I am about to lay a small hallway with solid wood flooring, it has 4 door ways leading off it.
If I have to leave expansion gaps everywhere, how do I deal with the doorways?
All doors open out from the hall, which means the flooring goes into each doorway, which means there needs to be expansion slots all round the bits that go into the doorways. Wont there be visible gaps.
I can finish the new wood floor to the 4 other room surfaces with treads, but are the bits that go into the doorways loose or fixed to the main floor.
I just cant visualise a solution that looks neat and yet deals with the expansion.
