woodworm treatment for old celing beam.

We live in an old cottage and the beam in the ceiling of our snug room seems to have evidence of woodworm. I have heard of a sort of paint that can be brushed onto beams or woodwork in this situation that kills the beatles as they bore out. Has anyone heard of it before. We don't want to use the usual liquid because it would take ages to treat evey hole. Thanks Jim
