Help how do i get rid of woodworm ? I purchased a rather large 10 seater 3metre Indian Jali Table just before xmas and i have just noticed what i think is woodworm on the inside of the side panel, there are only 3 small holes but there seems to be a small amount of dustcoming from them which is landing on the seat below on a daily basis, the wood is hard indian shesham, and i am unable to return it as i had it imported direct from india. so i was wondering how to halt the spread !

Any ides would be much much appreciated

You could always burn it before the little so and so's break out and infest your house. Seriously get it out of the house and get it treated.

any other ideas ?

Yeah, just leave it where it is, its only woodworm, nothing to worry about.

What other ideas would you like exactly. Woodworm is a serious problem, the info tells you how to treat it. The options are treat it or leave it.

Dont panic. It is more than likely that the woodworm was in the wood when it was converted in India and if so it will not infest your house timbers. The dust coming from the holes does not necesserily mean that the infestation is active. This is probably due to the vibration caused by the recent movement of the table. To be on the safe side I suggest that you purchase some woodworm killer and apply it by brush to all the surfaces of the table and supplement this by injecting some into the holes with a hypodermic or something similar.
