under british gas service yearly warranty, problem was low pressure constantly and pipe leaking from outside of mothers house so he fixed the prv presumbly and showed it to her , it was full of dirt , now he says under their warranty they need to flush the system out with a chemical at a cost of £400.If she dont get it done they will not come out again and repair the same fault again, is this correct?
she could get it done by somebody else £250 but BGas is guaranteed and sounds like scaremonger tactics. any advice welcome

Sort of, if the system is sludged up they will not cover another fault caused by the sludge, ask them to come back and take a water sample which is sent off to an independant lab and tell them you want to see the results before making a decision, you could also get one done yourself.

I think that Sentinel will do a free chemical analysis for you. You may need to ring / email them for a sample tube though.
