I am having problems with my boiler, with central heating off on timer and room stat, when hot water is ran heat goes to the rads too.
Started happening last night, I am not 100% but think the diverter valve could be stuck open, can the valve be stuck in both C/H and H/w MODE allowing heat going to rads . Rads are red hot, water is not to it`s usual temp.


Any help would be appreciated

The rear part of the valve can stick if there is oxide dirt in the system and give that symptom.

In theory it can be cleaned but I dont normally find that very successful so normally change the whole valve.

Check the motor in the diverter is working. The cogs might be worn/ damaged
