We have had a Worcester boiler installed to replace our old boiler. Since it has been installed, there is a dreadful whistling sound coming from it when the heating comes on. The pitch changes depending on the amount of rads that are on. We have replaced the pump, thinking that was the problem. However, we still have the whistling/siren sound. We never had this problem with the old boiler - only since the new one was installed. Can anyone advise please?

call the installer back to check the bypass and balancing.

The obvious question is what does the installer say about it?

Possibly its the normal noise which you are not used to?

If its a boiler fault then the manufacturers will cover it under the warrantee.

Its always a possibility the installers have left an obstruction in the water path.

The installer made a total hash of the installation so we don't want him back. Where should the bypass valve be positioned? I have looked on the internet and I don't think we have one...

If its a WB combi then it has its own automatic by pass

We have replaced the pump, thinking that was the problem.

Who replaced the pump? Was it done under warranty. ?

It is not a combi boiler - it is a Greenstar utility 32/50kw oiled fired condensing boiler. Does that have a built in valve?

Obviously he must have forgotten to do that! Thanks for advice. We will get in touch with a heating engineer tomorrow and see about having one installed. Hopefully that will get rid of the noise.
