I had a new Worcester Bosch 28CDi boiler fitted in my flat recently. It works, but I've noticed a strange thing. Sometimes the gentle humming sound from (what I assume is) the pump fluctuates - the pitch rises and falls every 5 seconds or so. Is this normal? It's quite distracting (sounds like the wind whistling outside), and it's not a thing I'm used to hearing, so I wondered if it was indicative of a problem.
(I've got an MP3 sound file of this, but I don't see a way to attach it to this post)
The sound of the hot water going through my radiators gets louder and quieter every few seconds as the pitch of the hum from the pump goes up and down - is that normal too?
I've contacted the company who installed the boiler to ask for their advice, but they tend to be a bit slow answering queries (and also I'm worried that they may try to fob me off!).
Thank you.
