had the offending boiler installed just over 2 years ago, went to put heating on tonight and no joy. When I look at the control panel, flame light comes on, but 'pump' does not start running and the digital display shows '-[]-' kind of symbol flashing.

I will be calling boiler man out, just after an idea on what to expect, if I have an idea I may not collapse when he gives the price

Thanks

I think this is a start-up sequence that the boiler goes through( filling the condensate trap?) for around 15 minutes before it will go to full output, let it run and see what happens.

Will someone tell what a 532i is.
BG rebadged 30 CDI afaik.

You can probably cancel the RGI, just leave the boiler on for a bit and it will return to normal.
It is a safety feature that runs the boiler on minimum power after an air expulsion cycle to fill the condensate trap in case it dried out and lost the seal.

Where ya bin, you're 2 hrs toooooooo late

I was wondering if this is the first time its been put on for heating this autumn.

However, assuming its been heating hot water that should not make any difference.

Perhaps the power was off for a while and the boiler thought it had just been installed or had been off for a while.

Maybe the sequence is specially designed to increase BG callouts?

Tony

Thanks everyone, problem now sorted.

Left to run as advised, and after 15 - 20 minutes was working fine. No mention of this in instructions we got, so me thinks it is a BG plan to get us to keep their coffers full

Anyway, thanks again for the advice, much appreciated.
