Worcester combi 36CDi Compact v 34CDi Classic?

Hi, i'm replacing an old Worcester 28CDi with a condenser. We have 3 bedrooms, a downstairs bathroom & insulation isn't great. Probably adding an en suite in near future.

The Classic seems to have no reliability issues (correct?), but is slightly lower powered & less efficient than the newer Compact. My worry is whether the Compact will be as reliable/long-lived? Is it the equivalent of an old V6 v a tuned up racing engine? Space is not an issue.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Think about the amount of hot water that a bath room and en-suite will need when both are in use at the same time. Very often the combi will supply enough hot water for both at the same time but not at the same temperature as when it is supplying only one of them.

Someone in a hot shower may get a dose of cooler ( even cold ) water when a hot tap is turned on elsewhere in the house.

Two showers require a hot water storage tank and a much simpler and more reliable heat only boiler.

Thanks fot that - any comment on the relative pros & cons of the Compact v the Classic? I'd prefer long life & reliability to hyper efficiency if it's that simple... There's usually only two people in the house, so we can co-operate as a rule!
