We have a 9 year old Worcester Greenstar 27HE combi which have had repositioned in our house from a bathroom location to a new utilitiy room we had built as part of a small extension.
When we had it moved we went from a flue through the roof to a through wall flue and a new flue was installed.
We had a problem with the fan not working in its new location and so this was replaced. We searched countrywide to find one and eventually had delivered and instsalled.
We thought all was in good working order through the summer only using the hot water.
When it came to putting the heating on we encountered a raspberry noise when the fan seems to be 'getting up to speed or slowing down' (not sure).
We have had a bearing plate fitted to see if this works dispite some comments form Worcester stating that a bearing plate was not required on earlier models.
It had a full service and clean out and replaced the burner plate and seal and still the noise. But only when heating not DHW. Heat output at radiators is fantastic and gas/air ratio have been thoroughly checked and it is burning at approx 98% efficiency.
Gas valve has been checked and it working correctly.
What could it be?
Could it be an incorrect or faulty fan?
The plumber tells us that 'boilers dont like to be moved' and 'you need a new boiler' but Worcester advised that a boiler of this age is fixable.
Our next step is to get Worcester in to look at it but that is more cost.
Any help greatfully received.
