Worcester greenstar danesmoor 12/18 oil boiler

I have a worcester greenstar danesmoor 12/18 oil boiler. The boiler worked fine last winter but when I tried to turn it on , it will not ignite. The fan comes on and I hear a clicking sound. When the burner is out I do not get a spark, but i do get fuel.
I have tested the photocell and it changes resistance with and without light.
i have checked the position of the electrodes and they appear good - set as per manual
The system has been bled, fuel filter cleaned

Any advice would be great fully received.

If you're getting fuel but no spark then either a lead has come away from the electrodes, there's a crack in the electrode insulation or electrodes themselves, or you need a new control box

i guess i can replace leads first - is it common for them to fail

They can do, after all they work in a hot environment

i've replaced nozzle and electrode and adjusted the pressure, it now purrs. Thankyou

'Adjusting the pressure' without knowing what to and balancing off the air supply is a recipe for a soot disaster.

Thanks for the advice. The manual gives me settings and the last boiler I serviced is still working a year later and isn't sooty.
