Hi,
Today i decided that the upstairs radiators in my (rented) house had been cold for long enough, so bled them..... now the pressure in my 28cdi is 0..... my landlord has the key thing for the expansion tank, which i now realise i need to use to top it up.... (and probably rebleed as i'm guessing air has been sucked in).....

when i turn the boiler on, it makes a noise like it is filling with water, and i can't remember this happening before. there are also some other rattles every so often, which i don't remember either....

i can't get the key thing for a while, but with the forthcoming cold weather am loathed to do without heating.... am i ok to risk running with zero pressure? are the startup noises (semi?) normal? is there any other way to repressure the system?

thanks for your help
chris

i am not a plumber or heating engineer, but we have a combi, and it wont work (hot water or rads) with zero pressure, can you not get a new filling loop?

Am I missing something?, the pressure will be zero in your system because you have just let it all out of the radiator bleed. You now need water to replace the air you bled and repressurize the system which I think is an internal filling loop so you will need the key. If it works with zero pressure your boiler is faulty. Read the user instructions and then get the filling loop key then all will be toasty ;)
