Hi there,
I live in a flat with only one toilet and am having my bathroom renovated through B and Q. I wondered if there are any building regulations regarding leaving a working toilet over night whilst work is going on? I was told by the installer to stay in a hotel for a day or two(!) This is not convenient for my daughter(14) and I and I thought there may be a regulation to ensure a toilet is left working at the end of each day when a property is being worked on.
I’d be grateful if any one can point me to guidance or regulation?

Buy a camping loo and then sell it afterwards? Or find a fitter who can leave you with a working toilet every night.

Is the toilet position being changed? If not then they can leave you with a working toilet.

Speak with B&Q to confirm this or see if it is in your T & C's

B&Q - worry about having a working toilet AFTER they've finished!
And no, no regulations but they should be able to leave the pan connected to the outlet for temporary use (flush with a bucket) at the end of the working day.

There's no regulation I'm aware of but it's basic good customer service to ensure a working toilet is left overnight. That being said, B&Q fitters are paid rock bottom prices so aren't really motivated to do anything more than the bare minimum to get the job done. As others have said, if it's not too late then best to cancel them
