Y or S Plan - Performance Issues

Does anyone have any details on performance with regard to Y and S plan systems?

I don't know why, it just looks like an S plan will be the better performer - this is of course without the benefit of a degree in thermodynamics.

I know that there are some real brain boxes on this forum - so, please don't be shy

Depends on the size of the property, but generally an S plan is the best bet.

With an S plan you can have multiple zones that are individually controlled, by their own stats, an obvious saving for areas that are not used or at a lower temperature, e.g. bedrooms and guest rooms.

Another advantage is, it meets the new energy regs, and the VAT is only 5% on all controls, so now is a good time to grab some of Browns money, before he changes his mind

If you look at the Kv's for different types you might be surprised. In other words the resistance of a 3 port can be the same as a 2 port. Varies with maufacturer.
COmparing figs for 22 vs 28mm sizes is similarly disappointing. But not surprising when you see they use the same balls and apertures inside some of them.
