Yale easy fit telecommunicating alarm won't call

Hi all. I installed this yale alarm a few days ago and I can't get it to call when the alarm goes off.
I have saved two phone numbers in the unit. I have recorded a message too. The phone line works ok.
I have tried a couple of tests via the unit and it seems to be trying to call but nothing ever happens.

Yes. I've tried with and without

I changed the phone cable (that Yale had supplied with it) and now it's working.
