YALE smart alarm ENA series recording a message fault

I am trying to record a message on my panel but when i listen back it is silent.

To record I hit ok on address and when tone starts I say message then ok
I do the same for burglar. All seems okay but when listened back its just silent.

The mic on the panel works fine. any suggestions?
