Yet another "Which Cordless Drill" ...

Looking for something quite light , plenty of oomph and reliability. Good batteries, good battery charger etc. Has to be reasonably light - I'm not the strongest bloke in the world.

This is for general diy - occasional drilling into walls, that sort of thing.

I'm assuming 18v is the one to aim for - not sure if these 18v Li-ION drills are too heavy.
Occasional wall - does it need some "hammer time"?
I'm happy to go up to, say, £120 ? - not interested in premium, I'm not in the trade.

Sure are a lot of Ryobi fans here (40% blah blah etc) ... Are these still the same quality as they once were? Read somewhere their robustness has declined a bit.

Did see a blue bosch 18v, but think it weighed 3kg ( or is it my imagination)
Any suggestions, folks?

If you have the time, and know how? Do what I did; I bought my dcd985 drill body, 4.0amp battery, and charger seperate, and ended up saving £90.00 on EBay.

bosch blue 10.8v will do nearly as well as the 18v but at a slightly reduced speed

ok cool, thanks guys... But is that true though? 10.8 v blue bosch (i assume this means 12v) is nearly as good as usual 18 volters (apart from speed of course, but im not in a race ) ? impressive

the lion cells are 3.6v so you can have 3.6/7.2/10.8/14.4/18v/21.6/25.2/28.8/32.4/ 36v or any combination above that

of course an 18v will perform better on some tasks but the 10.8 is lower geared so will perform at the equivilant off say 15 or 16v so near enough for diy
i have 24v bosch 18 dewalt and ryobi and the 10.8 gets used most

For daily work i only use my 12v kit Milwaukee), only rarely do i need to get the 18v big boys toys out.
