I have just installed a Youngman's Easiway 3 section loft ladder. However, I have found no way, in normal use, to get the ladder to rest on the loft floor when fully stowed in the loft. When moving the ladder into the loft the gliders, upon which the ladder slides in and out of the loft, hit the stops at the end of the top section of the ladder. The ladder in the loft is then stuck up about 30+ deg., held by the pivot arm, instead of being horizontal. If the glider-stops are removed the ladder can them move further into the loft and fall to the floor but at the stage the gliders will have come out of the ladder leaving the ladder stranded in the loft.
My problem is probably difficult to offer solutions for unless one has knowledge of the particular ladder, but perhaps there is someone who has this knowledge who can help. I have already phoned Youngman's but received no solutions other than "try this, try that", none of which seem to work.
