Hi There,
So we are having this fixing frame installed, and it seems to be missing an o-ring as per the picture.
The White Pipe is the verticle Flush Pipe (18 in the diagram), the external diameter of that is 2 inches. The horizontal flush pipe sits inside that (5 in the diagram). The groove in the white verticle flush pipe 1/2 Inch
The White Pipe should have an o-ring/rubber washer but it is missing and the manufacturer is being a bit useless and doesn't stock spare part. The onsite builders say it's not a standard part and can't be taken from the spare parts of the other WC Fixing frame from Grohe.
I have been to the plumbers' merchants and none of them stock anything like that. Better Bathrooms have said that a standard 32mm o-ring should work, but I can't find one of the required thicknesses, what exactly am I looking for?
Is there an alternative, such as using a 32mm o-ring that isn't as thick and then using loads of silicone or just silicone or plumbers mait style putty? I mean it's not under any pressure, so I am guessing silicone could work?
They cant send another WC fixing kit till June at the earliest so I am weighing up my options, which include leaving it till June, ripping this Zana one out which means taking the whole wall apart and replacing it with a Grohe or getting a standard toilet or just trying to find the closest match and/or using silicone to get it watertight.
The builders have said silicone or something can work, but they obviously can't guarantee it
Happy for any input!
