I am looking for some help with a problem

My washing machine, which has been ever reliable has encountered a problem.....

It starts to wash clothes, but mid cycle, before any spinning it stops, still full of water

I have drained it and cleaned out the filter, but after trying it again, the same problem arises

I really hope there is someone who can give me the heads up

Many thanks

does the pump run is anything jammed in there , how have you drained it, does it go on to a sink spigot is that blocked up.

I drained it by using the little hose that is next to the filter....

would you reccommend opening the pump ? is this a difficult job ?

Does the drain pump run when you first start a program for a short time.
Does it drain when you select just the drain program.

If not then you will need to remove the pump and check the impeller is not blocked/broken or the motor U/S

Fiddly to do at times

You need to remove the back half of the chassis and the pump is located at the front of the machine, you can either remove the 3 screws holding it together in situ or remove the lock tab and slide the whole pump assembly backwards and strip down when removed.

Hi. I have a zanussi turbodry 1000 washing machine and it fails to stop automatically when programme is supposed to finish. After spinning the clothes come out soaking wet.
Could it be the pump or the belts inside?

Please help

Firstly have you tried filling then spinning it empty incase its the unbalence detection kicking in but if its. the pump then depending on the model if the filter cover on the front bottom corner is square then tilt back appliance and underneath the pump insert pliers between the two grey tabs and at the same time flick the pump to the left with a screwdriver to slide it out you dont need to split the cabinet . If you have a later model the the filter is rectangular in which case again tilt it back undo the filter and shine a torch into the hole you should see the pumps impellors and be able to be pick out whats obstructing the blades with long nose pliers if the carnt then the pump simply twists off from underneath. If it drains ok then it could be the motor brushes if you have any probelms then you must post the model number and age and create a seperate subject as you've tagged onto an old post :D
