zannussi ZDC47200W drier drum stopping

It wont start, but no error red light. If I rotate the drum slighhtly and close the door it sometimes runs, but eventually stops.

I THINK the following is true:
If it stops mid cycle, there is a humming sound as if the motor is trying to turn.
If I try to start it , and it does not spin, there is a hum for a second or so, then quiet, then repeat ad infitum.

There are two causes that springs to mind, but is possibly flawed logic,so wonder if anyone has any actual knowledge and ideas?

Belt driven?
Take back off and check motor and belt.

That was my two immediate ideas, tbh. If it is the belt, wouldnt the motor continue to turn, but not revolve the drum?

There isn't much inside a tumble dryer just like a washing machine.
Get the top or back off and have a look at belt.
