Zanussi dishwasher drain hose problem

I have a Zanussi 927 dishwasher with a split drain hose I would like to replace? Is this a DIY job? It seems I would have to dismantle a substantial part of the rear casing to be able to disconnect and connect a new one. I'm also wondering whether the cold water connector has seized up (not touched since installation 11 yrs ago) as the blue plastic bit on the side will not turn through 90 degrees to close it off (I have loosened a small screw on the side first)....

Hi repairing the drain hose is an easy job that most diyers should be able to manage. Just cut away the damaged part with a stanley blade, and join a new hose to the remaining old part with a hose connector like this,

and secure with a couple of jubilee hose clips. The just swop over the connection at the trap. Job done!

Regarding your isolation valve, they are famous for sticking then leaking after you have freed them up. If it's, as most likley, stuck in the open position, I'd leave it be if you can. Replacing it would simply involve cuttin the copper, and tightening a new compression fitting, or a 'push fit' version.

most washing machine waste hoses are connected to the pump by a jubilee clip so pull the plug, remove the back of the machine and have a look it might be easier to renew waste hose right back to pump

Thanks for the advice, I will look into connecting in a new length of hose via a 17mm connector. Dismantling the back of the machine looks tricky and it may be better to leave the mini stop valve well alone for now. I connected the machine when we moved in so it's annoying to be stuck for ideas!
