Is there anyone who can tell me how to change the bearings on my zanussi fjs 1397 w , or is there any where i could get hold of a manual.
Thanks for any help that can be given . :
Big job this one. Cabinet has to be split, entire tub assembly removed from machine. Split the tub, try and get the inner drum out. Knock out old bearings, fit new ones and seal, new tub seal, rebuild (hopefully with old inner drum, depends on the state of the shaft) and reassemble.
Thanks very much 'sleepyhead' , i'd got so far and came to the same assumption but could not believe. Will have a crack at it monday.
regards butcherboy and thanks again .
I can tell you that we don't change the bearings at work, we replace the back half of the tub and most times have to change the inner drum as well because the old bearing shell has virtually welded itself to the shaft.
Thanks sleepy head, with mrs nagging , are going for new machine, (i take it your in trade ), any particular makes to go for and any to avoid ?
regards butcherboy.
If money is no object get Miele. Failing that, look at Siemens and Bosch.
Check your local independants for a machine called ISE, 5 years parts and labour warranty on them.
To be avoided, too long a list.
