Zanussi FLS 1383 W Not completing cycle

I have this zanussi washer> starts off ok, then sits in middle of program until dial is moved manually. Fills, rinses & drains OK.
checked pump is OK & drum moving freely, nothing seems to be blocked.

any help would be appreciated

Changed the brushes/belt ok/drum free on the zanussi 1383, no change
here is the symptoms again
start wash cycle >
1. takes water/soap in normal
2. tries to rotate drum, makes noises > drum not turning
3. program selector not moving> humming noise coming from this
i think as it tries to move on to next cycle
4. move the selector forward manually and then starts next cycle
selector frozen again
5 Until the final spin/rinse cycle takes all water out > No Spin
6 selector moves automatically to end of program

any advice would be appreciated

How long did you wait to see if the programmer knob moved on?
The fact the motor doesn't turn would indicate a motor or motor controller problem. (Some zanussis have a pcb in the base which controls the motor.

waited 10-15 minutes. didn't move on.

is there any way of checking motor with a meter or apply voltage direct to brushes?

Sorted problem out
It was the brushes.
they had a break in the wire which i didn't check when new ones fitted

remade connection & now working fine
