Zanussi jetsystem 1200 XC error code 20

Hi, my zanussi fills with water and goes through the cycle until the point of fast spin, there is then a grinding noise from the bottom of the machine near the fluff filter housing.

The noise continues for sometime, then the machine flash's up E20 and does no more.

I would be grateful for any advise, i am thinking it may be the weak link in the machine and a new machine may be a more efficent use of money than a repair.

You've got too much money
Most likely something in the pump or the impellor is broken off.
Should be a reasonbly priced repair.

I was working on the principle that the manufacture designs in a weak link that costs almost as much as a new machine, that was the case with our last machine anyway

Thanks Sleepyhead, it was the pump causing the fault.

Rang up for a repair quote £50 - £70.

Took the pump off myself, ordered a new pump on eBay, £10 delivered.

Fitted it, 3 screws, 2 electrical spade connectors.
