Zanussi Jetsystem 1200 XC - FJS1225 W. About six years old
More often than not the washing machine will seemingly hang at various points during its wash cycle. i.e. during a short wash (66 mins) the machine will sit at between 48-46 minutes for ages (30 mins - 2 hours and sometimes more before we get bored!). During this time it will continue with the wash cycle (agitation part) - the digital timer will not move. We're unable to force it through.
Occasionally it hangs within 10 seconds of starting a wash program
Occasionally it will run through correctly. (maybe 1 in 4 washes)
The long and short washes have the same issue.
We try to reset the program but it will, more often than not, still stop after the wash cycle and before the rinse/conditioning. The only thing that seems to give a result is to disconnect from electricity for a few hours.
Dont think the machine has the ability to skip to the rinse/condition program so we get a very poor wash.
Filter and hoses are all clear (removed a lot of scale from the hose several weeks ago).
The element does heat the water.
The drain and spin cycles work.
Have tried many different combinations of type of wash (synthetics/cottons, different temperatures and spin speeds etc) even washing with no contents in the drum.
Had an engineer round who advises it's likely (not certain) to be a problem with the electronics which will be expensive and his advice is consider a new machine before proceeding.
Would appreciate a 2nd opinion from someone in the know!
