Zanussi Timeline 1400 no hot water

We have a zanussi timeline 1400 which we have had for 5 years.The problem is it wont heat the water up and sometimes the washing comes out with dirty streaks.Maybe this is the rubber door seal/drainage but cant help thinking it is related.Could it be thermostat?Heating element?Pcb?Any ideas would be appreciated.John
