We've had this washer/dryer for two years with no problems. It's a Turbodry machine and has always dried everything very quickly but just recently it's taking at least 2 hours to dry even the very smallest load. The door doesn't get anywhere near as hot as it used to. I've checked everything that the manuals troubleshooter suggests and can't find anything wrong. Can anyone help please?

this machine has a dual heater 2x700watts.
if you remove the lid you will fid that on the rear of the heater box there wil be four terminals i.e. two pairs. remove the wires remembering where they were and test for continuity betwen each pair. if fido is right then you wil have open circuit on one of them. attw years it's hardly likely to be an accumulation of fluff. however if you want to check then the rear half of the cabinet will have to be removed top acess the condenser which is on the right side when viewed from the from the front.
to do this you will have to
1. remove the lid
2 remove the caps and screws each side of the cabinet at floor level.
3 remove the screws on the rear at floor level. there used to be two but on some models there is a third next to the drain hose.
4. on top of machine half way back there are more screws which are fastened through the tub spring retainer. take out those as well.
5. there will be one screw which supports the dryer fan on the rear just down from lid height.
6. when easing back the cabinet rear half make sure you don't damage the water inlet valves.
this done the conenser is on the right side. usualy it's assembled by push fitting it together. you'll see if there is excessive fluff in it. if so then either take it apart or fih around with a wire coat hanger hooked on the end to pull as much out as possible.

It turned out to be loads of fluff in the condenser. It's all been cleaned out now and the dryer is back to normal.
