Hi,

Have spent a small fortune on the above in the last yr, had new motor & new pump plus a few smaller jobs too. Have had this machine for 6yrs & after spending so many £'s recently can't decide if I should get it repaired again, or cut my losses, BUT having said that I feel that it surely would be more economical to repair it!

sceanario- Hubby decided to strip bed & wash linen, he put double sheets, duvet cover & pillowcases into the machine in one go! On emptying the machine I thought it was too heavier load & on pegging it onto the line realised that it had not washed too well, which I imagine would be down to the load being too heavy? When I tried to do the next wash, the machine cut in & water begun to fill, but this just went on & on for ever, so some twenty mins later I put the machine onto a spin programme which it half heartedly did. Then tried turning the drum by hand to redistribute the load, (the drum has normal resistance still), now I can't get any water into the machine at all, the power light is on, the dryer programme & spin programmes will kick in but the drum does not rotate, but when selecting any wash programmes it does nowt! I can hear the click of any of the programmes I select as if the machine is trying to kick in, but nothing!

Hubby says he is fed up of spending money on it & is ready to go out & buy a new one, but I feel that having spent so much money in the last yr, surely this can not be something too costly??

Thanx for any advice guys, Tracy.

My personal opinion is that its not worth fixing unless I can do it myself. A new one will use less power and water and you might be able to find one with a bigger load and a five year guarantee (ie LG).

If you've had all those new parts you could strip it and sell them off on ebay!

Maybe the motor has failed (possible duff brushes?) or the motor control circuit has gone pop - Breezer is probably the man...

take it outside and shoot it

seriously, unplug it. have a look between pulley (big wheel to you and me) and motor is the drive belt there?

it sounds like it has "stalled" and either burnt throught the drive belt or it has come off.

If it is still there see can you rotate drum be hand , if you cant you have something jammed between inner and out tum, if you can could be motor or its board Gone, take it outside and shoot it

the outer drums do make very good plant pots (i am being serious, i have one)
