Hello everyone
Ok the problem is this, m/c has been working perfectly (last used 3days ago) go to use it this morning and problems...begins to fill then stops, tried it on various progs and similar results with some changes ie. small spurt of coild water infill then one of the two big white V/v's click and the infill stops...... then does it again over and over...... Pumped out, drain clear, filter clear, but when I tried it again I notice that usually during infill the drum will rotate from side to side and carry on doing this till the correct level is reached, this morning no drum movement at all, so m/c carries on filling till it decides to quit... question.... could it be the motor brushes that is causing all this as I can not spin anything out either.... if so does anyone know if I can safely lay the m/c on its front/side to get at ther motor, and also would anyone have any idea how these brushes come out...they are not just sprung loaded as normal and appear to fixed VERY firmly....sorry for the length of post....

PS the m/c is fitted with a Sole motor.

Don't lie it on it's side, front or back.
The correct way is to split the cabinet, take the motor out and change the carbon brushes.
However, it is possible to tilt the machine back and change them from underneath.
Either held in place by 2 screws or 2 bolts on each carbon brush holder.

Many thanks for that, but after trying something a little off the wall the m/c appears to be working perfectly again....and what did I try...I ran an empty cycle..... but one other queston if I may....why does this m/c have TWO water pressure V/v's I think I am right in calling them that.... :?: the big white disc's with all the wires coming from them and a skinny little hose from the bottom... many thanks Sleepyhead.

That's the pressure switches. The water valves are at the back and the fill hoses are attached to them.

Why would they, or at least one I heard while the top was off keep clicking on and off intermittentley while the m/c was filling...? whould that denote a drop or increase in incoming water pressure....? and if so would that mean that the cold infill switch at the hose inlet is faulty..? or possibly even a kink in the infill hose..? normally the m/c just carries on filling till the required level is reached as the drum gently rotates, but sometimes i can here the infill stopping and starting...kind of stuttering on and off.....sorry for all of the questions....... just trying to try and find out as much as I can before I have to call in an engineer, once again many thanks for yuor help sleepyhead.

The machine will fill, the pressure switch will activate and stop it filling. As it rotates the laundry will soak up water and the machine will detect the drop in pressure and take in more. This will keep happening until the laundry is fully soaked.
Your hoses aren't kinked nor are your valves faulty.
If there was a problem with the pressure switch pipe it would either not fill at all or overfill to the point of flooding.

Many thanks for the reply sleepyhead, I have checked the fill hoses and they don't appear to be kinked in any way, so it looks like the fill V/v itself may be going crook, once again many thanks.... :)
