Zanussi (ZDT41) Dishwasher Not heating up water/drying.

I have a Zanussi ZDT41 which was purchased in September 2009 - so is typically out of warranty by a couple of months.

It runs through its cycle OK but has stopped heating up - (the water doesnt heat nor does it dry at the end) I'm guessing its the thermostat? (I have no real idea with these things) is there a way of telling what the problem is? As i say it runs through the cycle so there is no error code?

And how easy would it be for a novice to repair??

I would call Electrolux (who own the Zanussi brand) & explain the situation before digging around in there yourself. They may cover a component fault (element, pcb, thermostat etc) even if just out of warranty. If bits start failing after a year then it is not really "fit for purpose".
