Hi all

Will soon have a fair amount of MDF to prime. I already have some Zinsser BIN and Zinsser Bullseye 123 so am hoping I can use one of these rather than buy something new.

Are either/both suitable? Would anyone recommend one above the other?

Many thanks

Max

Cannot recommend Zinsser bin highly enough. Very quick drying and easy sanding..

Sorry but I have not tried the bull's-eye

Thanks for the help.

Another question - is it possible to use emulsion on the MDF? We are building a wall to ceiling cupboard and would like it to blend in with the walls as much as possible......

Anyone else had success with emulsion on MDF? I'm using Dulux Diamond Matt.

And would I still need to prime if using emulsion?

Cheers

Max

I used matt emulsion on an mdf cupboard side which had previously had wallpaper on it, I used Polycell Basecoat on it before I painted it with the emulsion which seems to have worked ok. No idea if BIN will work but don't see why not.

Prime it with the Zinsser sand with 320 grit and then emulsion it as normal
Any emulsion will work
