Hi all.

I need to lift a solid oak floor that has been secretly nailed to give access to a plumber to change the piping to the radiators.

I guessing this will not be easy, i assume I will just have to replace pieces that need to be lifted.

Has anyone done this before? any advice would be appreciated

Can you route out an access hatch? It will leave you with a visible hatch afterwards but that may be more acceptable than ripping the floor up.

Either use a system with a proprietary plastic moulding finish

or route out a rectangle of oak floor, cut the floor below and make a conventional access hatch, then put the oak back with edging strips to make it a neat patch.
