No Pilot Light!

I have a Baxi Solo boiler which won't work. The Boiler on light just flashes repeatedly and the pilot light won't come on. I remember a similar thing happened last winter and my housemate fixed it by doing something with the mid positioning valve. I took that apart and the lever on the left which switches between heating/water had snapped so I presume its something to do with this.??

If mid position valve is broken I think you need to repair or replace that before doing anything else. Valve supplies power to the boiler when demand is present for heat, if valve is broken the boiler wont get a call for heat.
