We want to create 4 offices out of a large open space, each about 3x3.5m, in a line (with shared walls) - 18m of glass partitioning.

Natural light comes from the two sides so we want lots of glass to let the light in the the middle offices.

Real glass partitioning seems to cost quite a bit and we don't have much cash.

Are there any creative ways to do this on the cheap and still have it looking ok? Anything from using Ikea sliding doors, to wood or aluminium frame and second-hand glass!

E.g. We can get 13x1m glass panels second hand for about £20 each but without frames

Use the secondhand panels in a studding made from planed 3x2 and held in place by thinish stripping , all off the shelf, and two pieces of mdf or ply on the lower half set just back from the face of the 3x2 and paint.
Cheap and also looks effective it you're tidy, I've done it myself.

But is the glass safety? It all very well but buy cheap buy twice, what if you have clients come to your office not going to look good a slapped up partition. Have you had quotes for this to be done?

you will have to comply with fire regulations and all sorts off multiple occupancy requirement
suggest you do your homework with the council and building regs
