Did a bit more today, chipped a decent section of concrete off the clay pipe ready the cut. There were more cracks, I had to get past and not sure if I did that or that's why the 3" of concrete is on top of it...
Bought a floplast bottle gully and cleared out space below the downpipe beside house wall. I cleared down as far as I could, to what I believe is footings 300mm below dampproof course. But bottle gully much too high sitting well above DPC.
Thinking now the low back p trap and being able to adjust upstand height, as Ree suggested, is probably the go.
