Hi all.

I've just re-concreted the doorstep as the original was only 1-1/2" thick, cracked to buggery and well clear of the hardcore . I've laid a 3" thick slab at 6:1 ballast/cement with a 3/4" fall over 2' and will be tiling it with porcelain tiles & using epoxy grout.

I know the exact curing time will be in months but what would you experts suggest for a sensible period before tiling ? I've seen figures like 6 weeks mentioned elsewhere but then it appears like somebody quotes that as not long enough so I'm a bit unsure ?

I've covered the slab with a bit of dpm to try to help it stop drying too quickly and have seen comments about scratching and sealing before tiling, it's just the waiting period I would like some advice on please (y). I'm not in any mad rush but 5 months seems a bit severe ! Trades wouldn't get any work done if they had to wait that long between jobs, surely

TIA
