Hi,
I want to add a Shelly relay to hook up a ceiling light to my Home Assistant setup.
I've found the junction box in the loft and there is no way I am going to get a Shelly in it, so is there any reason I can't replace the junction box with something larger like below and just use Wago...

So,
with the lamps upturned, facing upwards and pins going from bottom to top
it shows that,
Pin 1 is live brown
Pin 2 is Blue Neutral

Hi
I'm renovating my house and only have battery powered unlinked fire alarms. The loft room has mains power.
I would like to get radio linked alarms, so they don't have to be wired to each other. But I need them to be mains powered
If I was to run them off the lighting circuit, what is the...
Hi everyone, I’ve been decorating and wanted to switch out a light switch from an old plastic standard one to a metal dimmable one.
however not sure which wires to connect. Any help/advice much appreciated, thanks.
Looking at that eyesore of our CU, I noticed that the RCD (which protects only kitchen, upstairs and downstairs rings) is rated for 60A when the circuit breakers are 32a each. Is that a problem? I am aware that it is unrealistic to have 3*32A=96A at any given moment, but it is theoretically...
New BG domestic box has been fitted.
Everything in box works ok, without tripping, except the led lighting circuit, which trips RCD every time wall switch is activated.
Lighting circuit trips either B6 RCD it is connected to, or larger in line 63A RCD.
LED lighting circuit works Ok when MCB...
Hi guys,
Just wanted some advice about changing/wiring a pendant light (photos attached).
Basically how do I wire it? No instructions in the box - not sure if the terminal block supplied is big enough.
Cheers for any advice!

Hi guys, I’d like to renew some kitchen lighting in my house. Currently we have 3 switches which all switch a different bank of lights and id like to remove 1 bank completely and then install LED down lights in place of the other 2 lights.
Is it as simple as disconnect the 3rd switch and remove...
I'm hoping to light a driveway inexpensively using little LED lighting 25 mm lamps.
I'm thinking that it should be low voltage for safety and cost but how do I calculate the size or rating of the transformer? Is there a simple calculation I can use?
Also what type of cable should I use? I'm...
So I am at my grandparents in Maidstone installing a Wireless Pyronix alarm in their bungalow.
To run power to the panel, I take a 1mm² T&E from a junction box in the loft (what is on one of the lighting circuits) to the FCU and then to the Pyronix panel.
First check for power at the panel and...

My Aunty is moving from her council flat in Croydon to a council flat in Kent to be nearer to the family, and so have been doing some simple electrical jobs for her.
Whilst I was replacing the 4 brushed chrome light switches (That I fitted about 4 years ago) in the flat for cheap plastic ones...
Hello - my sockets RCD tripped the other day and all sockets upstairs and downstairs went off - all well and good so far - but all the lights in the house were on , and I see in the (GE Euroline) CU that there is only one RCD trip and that is protecting the sockets only - the Lighting Circuit...
