The expose was reporting on the fact that it was piece work and the reporters purposely didn't pick much so that their money would be poor, the employer is legally bound to make up any shortfall up to the minimum wage which they didn't do in this case. The Farm said that they will be reviewing their policies.
The report didn't specify the average wage it pays so there is no knowing whether the other employees got a decent wage or not.

To be fair, the reporters were trying to manipulate the system and as they basically sat around all day, were they entitled to have been paid at all?

It would have been a fairer report had they interviewed the others and found out if they were being ripped off.

that way it wouldn't look like another case of the media trying to make something out of nothing again.

i have had first hand experience of this practice with a motorcyle
my son had an accident on one a while back and when the police attended they told him they would have to take the bike away to make sure it was road worthy and legal no one mentioned any third party involvement ( rip off recovery company) my son was in pain so said nothing either way
after making sure he was ok i went the next day to the station to recover bike ( no bike here m8 )

we dont bring them here they go to the recovery yard run by ** recovery
so i walk in and walk out with the bike no one watching i get as far as my van when a fat security guard runs up to me with a foot long torch telling me he is going to knock me out if i dont drop the bike
i infrom him its my sons bike and i am taking it to which he says i am stealing ?
after telling him what i will do if he does come near me with the torch he backs off and calls the police so i do the same to cover myself

i get home and lo and behold two traffic cops are there waiting hello hello they say did you just nick your bike back ?
no i took my property back thanks
