1.5mm T&E cheaper by the metre

Ok , agreed, sometimes cost and value are not the same thing. ... Our generation(s) were brought up on "save a shilling" our parents and grandparents even more so.
As I've observed in the past, the proverbs that seemed to 'control' a lot of out parents' and grandparents'; lives often came in contradictory pairs. In this case ...

"Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves"
OR
"Pound-wise, penny-foolish"

;)
Kind Regards, John

I have alerted the staff before, but they don't care.
It's the very opposite in my local coop; I came upon some oat milk that had 3 edge tickets; the front one was "out of stock", the one behind was £1.05 and behind that £1.45.. It was in stock and actually rang through the till at £2.30, so I picked up the tickets and the product and went to find a member of staff.

After initially being rather curt with me for carrying the shelf edge labels around, a transgression for which I profusely apologised and asserted I was merely trying to help out the staff on the till and save them a trek across store, he deleted one of the items out of my basket and charged me £1.05 for the other, leaving me having paid 52.5p per carton

Perhaps compensating for having got a bit shirty.. But next time I'll just take a photo of the offending shelf edge

We did that at Lidl with Bacon, they went over to the shelf, verified error and said they would amend it meanwhile refunded to compensate back to price as shown for our purchase. we repeated the operation for 4 weeks running and got exactly the same response, eventually it did change. question, how many people were "fooled" by this offer but did not realise at checkout? Answer (IMHO) loads, all the supermarkets do such at many times, at least several times each week, they do not give a "Castlemaine XXXX"!

Anyway, at least we got cheaper bacon 4 times
