Whilst the heat from a tungsten bulb does make a contribution to space heating. Any arguement based upon that waste heat misses the point that using electricity directly for space heating is a very poor use of probably our best energy source.
I am always suspcious of anyone who claims that externally vented tumble dryers are a lot more efficient that condensing dryers. The condensing dryer will have a higher consumption, but if used wisely will return much of its heat to the home where it may suplement existing heating. Still the best approach is to not use a tumble dryer unless absolutely necessary. Who remembers removing crispy clothing that has been dried (a little) outside during the winter?
