make sure there is still life in the battery, when you connected the live, you didnt by chance touch the live jump lead against the starter body, therefore shorting it out?
i was bering very carefull about the way i connected the pos, but it could have been possible the lead might have been touching the body of the starter when i put it on the switch connection and of course that would cause it to spark , will check battery tomoz am i wright there is a main relay at the side of the battery that could have blown
