2.7m Glass balustrade quote: £2650+VAT?!

Just been quoted £2650+VAT to install a simple rectangular balustrade, one piece of glass.

I just can't understand how it could be so expensive? Anyone else had something similar?

Structural glass is silly money although that does seem expensive, try to get a few more quotes. I expect you'll get it for less than that. Depends on the design of course.

Is that supplied and fitted? I bought some big slabs recently and fitting was about 3 times the price of just the glass. Could you DIY it?

Only £300 of that was fitting, apparently!

What method did you use to fit it? I want it to be frameless, and thus supported below floor level.
