2 Bed Bungalow into....

The new drawing looks great!!!!

Is that 23.9mtr ridge height measured from sea level?

I think it is based on a datum point on the topographical survey - not sure what that is based on but I don't think it would be enough to be sea level.

Planning officer coming on Friday as part of the pre application advice - hopefully they will like what we have done and advise on the whether the neighbours objection letter is valid!

Well after 2 years, and over 18 months of dealing with planning we finally received approval today for this:

The appeal inspector also visited today for an earlier application, so we still have that decision to come.

It isn't quite as modern and unusual as we hoped but at lease we can build a house. Hopefully this time next year we will be thinking about moving in (laughs slightly to himself)!!

In further news yesterday we won our appeal on a previous application. The inspector was damming of the council in their report. So we can now build this as well:

Part of the decision will be based on whether the mortgage company allow us to knock down what we have.

There are positives and negatives to both builds.

I thought I would give an update on where we are - serriously time constrained with being very busy at work and the build planning taking up every spare ounce of time. We decided to go with the Application that was approved by the planners.

Finally the bat license (to destroy the roost) has been submitted - this was on our critical path, hopefully we will receive approval by Christmas. Which means we can apply to have the condition removed from the applcation to Start in January. Bat boxes need temporary installation prior to commencement.

We have had a few pitfalls - the neighbours in their wisdom have decided to dispute the Party Wall notice (they felt this would be at the best interest of us both) - not sure how just adding cost to us is in our interest. They have however said they would use our suggested surveyor.

The asbestos demolition survey showed the soffits to be of licensable asbestos - joy of joys, so now that needs arranging as well.

Timber frame is ordered, Building Regs being completed.

Finances being sorted (need SAP ratings first before we can complete the application).

Quotes are slowly coming in for big parts of the build.

Cash flow is tight...

We also need to find somewhere to live as well which adds to the timescale presure.

I knew this would be challenging but the learning curve is huge!
