Put the blue wire at the light fitting into an insulated terminal block ,not connected to any other wire.
At the switch connect blue wire to L1

Seems like the 3 core and earth cable at the light fitting is not the same cable that appears at the switch ,so there must be a junction box somewhere. I think the blue cable at the light fitting is a neutral and should connect with the other neutrals at the light fitting ,put it in the same terminal with the black wire.

The black wire is connected to the blue one

Yes ,I know. Put the other blue wire in too. So the light fittings neutral terminal block will have one black and two blue wires in it.

Shall i leave the blue in the l1 at the switch? Thanks for your help! Much appreciated!
