going back to dog's original posting this is an example again of 2 way lighting being wired up wrongly using just twin and earth only, when flat cable is used as in domestic premises as opposed to single cables in conduit then the use of multicores must be used in order that you don't have single wires running seperately from their return wires in any of the sheaths

in wiring in twin the common wire would need to run in it's sheath alongside the two strappers(one or the other will be the return at any one time) and thereby cancelling out any eddy effects.
