take the card to a good local computer shop and ask them to verify if its fake or not, this can be used to prove your ebay dispute.
try using a usb adapter, try formatting to NTFS using your pc.

If this phone has wifi, then upload the files to an online store from the PC, and then download over wifi to the phone.

Or do it over the phone data network if you have unlimited data

Also, have you tried copying the files via a DOS window?

Or, move the files out of the DCIM folder before copying, or change the file name to one that is not a .mp4 or similar and see if the file copies. Then rename
