4 Tyres please. HOW MUCH???

It's the grey hound effect. When you know you are the fastest dog, there is no point in running around proving it.

Oh they had cheaper, from £85 a corner fitted, so £340 all in. That is a bargain, no?
Any "prestige" car (ice or ev) is going to be at LEAST £100 each, and likely much more . Not unheard of to be £250- 400 per tyre for top of range cars

It depends what the owner decides to slap on, however your point is generally accurate. However no need to spend as per OP.

Yes, the EVangelists who go on about being able to get a full charge at home for tuppence ha'penny always leave out the eye watering amounts these things cost to buy and the rapid depreciation. Also, aren't they soon going to have to pay car tax? Insurance costs will be steep too.

Suppose the tyres need to be good to support all that weight.
Depreciation and tyre costs are the same between ICE and EVs, surely?

As for good tyres to support the weight, many EVs (like ours) are shod with regular rubber. At the most, you'd need XL rated tyres, which a lot of ICE cars wear. In fact, a lot of all season tyres are XL rated.

Also because EVs are usually heavier and have quicker performance, maybe budget radials wouldn't be the best choice.

RWD Model 3 is under £40k new. That's VW Golf GTE money.

Mentioning no names because he's a bit touchy about the subject, there is another member on here who has an EV from a budget Korean manufacturer.

It costs £51,000. :oops::oops::oops:

It wouldn't be so bad if the bodywork didn't look like it had been designed by a Cuban panel beater. ;););)

I never pay more that £45 for a new tyre!!!
I like a decent all season tyre, Bridgestone Weather Control A005 (which have A rated wet grip) or Michelin Cross Climate 2. I usually don't have to pay more than 90-100 a corner.

It's your only contact with the road, so it has to have impeccable grip.

My tyres are in need of consideration. No MOT worries but maybe next year. Certain degree of uneven wear. Looks to be down to the car not alignment. Currently 30k miles probably 35 or more next year.

I'll refit OEM parts basically because I feel the maker concentrates on grip rather than an extended life. :( 4 of them as 4 wheel drive.
