9.5kw shower, 10mm cable and a 40m MCB???

This one came up in the pub last night, a firnd of mine know im doing my bathroom, and he is considering the following..

9.5kw shower, 10mm cable and a 40m MCB???

Apparently the cable and Mcb are allready in place, and he is going to replace the shower from an 8.5k to a 9.5k..

Thaught id ask for some thaughts on here to see if this was a resonable upgrade to the shower...

A 9.5kW shower will draw around 42 Amps. The cable will be OK but the MCB is under rated. He will need to replace the MCB. If there is no RCD protection, I'd recommend an RCBO. Tell him to look up Supplementary bonding on the NIC site and read their leaflet to ensure he's getting the best possible result.
