Is 95mm x 95mm not a standard size for a light switch just looking most appear to be 85x85. Also I'm after this size in a dimmer but most say that there 2 way switches. There is only one switch to turn the light on and off so I need I'm correct in saying I need a one way switch? Thank

A two way switch can be used for one way switching.
Some metal switches are larger than 85mm, but virtually all plastic are not.

A 1-gang 2-way switch will do the same job as a 1-gang 1-way switch.
If it has to be 95mm x 95mm, it's more likely something like a brass plate will do the job.

Can I ask can the device in a dimmer switch go faulty after a number of years so the lights flicker abit. So they have a transformer in them?

Any electrical accessory can fail, flickering lights can be caused by a number of things ,loose wiring connections most commonly.
Connect the permanent live to the switched live at the switch and see if lights still flicker,if they don't replace the dimmer. You may be able to keep your switch plate and just replace the dimmer module.

Since we migrated from incandescent to energy-saving to LED to dimmable LEDs, a lot of older dimmers are incompatible and will not work correctly. You may need to get one compatible with your lamps.

Switches with an edge pattern are usually larger, this is so the pattern is continues around the edge without the fixing screws intruding the pattern.
It was more common with metal switches with a roped edge that became popular in the 80's

That's what I have got.
